A CLOSER LOOK
Tented suites on Rwanyakazinga
Eight tented suites and a communal pool overlook the lake. The water is more than a background to the accommodation: it is part of the camp’s activity setting. This suits travellers who enjoy the atmosphere of a tented safari camp and want an Akagera stay with a distinct relationship to the lakes and wetlands, alongside time out in a vehicle.

A CLOSER LOOK
On the water, out in the park
Game drives, boat safaris and birding form the core programme, with catch-and-release fishing and guide-led wildlife identification or monitoring offering further interests to discuss. Magashi’s boating is on Lake Rwanyakazinga; public park boat excursions on Lake Ihema are a different arrangement. The variety suits guests who enjoy learning with a guide, following a bird across the water or becoming absorbed in the smaller details of the landscape.
THE RWANDA DMC PERSPECTIVE
Follow the water and wildlife
Magashi is a good fit for guests who want to alternate observation on land with time on the lake. We would ask about your interests before arranging the balance: birding, wildlife identification or a fishing outing can give the day a different focus from a general game drive. Leave room to follow the guide’s suggestions and whatever draws your curiosity during the outing. The northern Akagera location should shape the arrival and departure route; a southern park headquarters visit is a separate logistical decision. Compared with Magashi Peninsula’s private-villa option, the original camp may appeal more for the atmosphere of tented accommodation and shared camp spaces beside the water.
